Unexpected Belisle Legacy Issues
*10 p.m. last night, while prepping a room for a new coat of paint*
Allie: You know, we could have just got scotch tape.
Josh: No. When you're painting, you get painters tape.
Allie: And I usually just scoot the dropcloth along with me.
Josh: DO YOU WANT BLUE FLOORS? You do it this way. (attaches dropcloth to tape)
Allie: Haha...you're so cute.
Josh: Look, my family does not take painting or wallpapering lightly.
So...there's a family legacy I didn't know about.... *laughter*

Bribery Veto
Josh: *happily* Do I smell brownies?!
Allie: Yes. They're to take back to work.
Josh: No.
Allie: Yes!
Josh: NO!
Allie: I want the people you work with to like me...for my food.
Josh: They do like you for your food. They like you for your cookies. I like you for your brownies.
Sorry Xanadoo, I tried. :^)

Blog wars
The other night during a chicken dinner I ended up demonstrating, at great length, to Josh, how to effectively get all the meat off a chicken bone using a fork and knife. Apparently he did not learn this as a child.
Which lead to this (gently chiding...yeah...right) conversation...
Allie: I think I'm going to do a blog post. And it'll say "Tonight, I taught Josh how to cut up his chicken."
It was a strong mocking (gently chiding, mom, really) comment. To which my husband promptly responded:
Josh: Yeah, well I'm going to do my OWN blog post. And it will say "Today, I showed Allie what a helicopter is."
You see...the other night we were watching Warehouse 13 on the Scifi channel and there was an aerial shot of wrecked vehicle...which, at first glance I thought was a helicopter...but later noticed was actually an SUV. Unfortunately I didn't notice that before I made some dumb comment like "They got shot out of a helicopter?! YEAH RIGHT!" which promptly sent my husband into a fit of laughter.
So what I've concluded from this is that... we just have different strengths that's all. I can cut up my dinner effectively, Josh can tell a helicopter from an SUV.
Blog war averted....by my strategic preemptive strike. Ah ha! Aaaaand, moving right along.
Love,
Allie

Thank you.
Dear everyone,
Thank you so much for your support and prayers during the past week. Its meant so much to us to be surrounded by so many caring and loving people over the past few days.
Many of you are asking about funeral arrangements. Due to the holiday over the weekend there has been a bit of a delay in getting things together so the arrangements are currently (as of 8 p.m. Tuesday) still pending. Please check back here and we will post details as soon as they are definite.
Thanks again for all your help and support. Your phone calls and visits have been such an encouragement to us all.
Love,
Allie

.....I don't know what to say here.
Just a note to say that Josh's dad passed away yesterday evening. We're headed to Ohio either tonight, or tomorrow - everything still pending plans which aren't entirely finalized yet.
On a really personal note - I'm having a hard time even looking at this website today just because I know Randy used to check it. I know this because he was always the first to let me know when someone started posting spam messages in my comments, or on the side bar, or when something was malfunctioning. He did a lot of voluntary troubleshooting for me.
*half smile* The truth is, I'm going to miss those ip hits from California... more than I can put into words right now.
Thanks to everyone who have dropped notes or called or checked in on us. Please keep all the Belisles in your prayers through the next week or so.
Hug the people you love.
Always,
Allie

Typical table talk...
Same planet, different worlds
Allie: *gleefully* Yay! Rain...I love rain!
Josh: I love....this bread. *takes another hunk out of the middle of the loaf of bread I just made*
Yup, same planet...different worlds.
And speaking of different worlds...
Josh: *eating chicken* These are breasts right? Just so you know, I like breasts.
Allie: *snicker* I know you like breasts. But I also got thighs and legs.
Josh: Why?
Allie: Because breasts are like seven dollars and thighs and legs are three dollars. Breasts are expensive.
Josh: WELL I CAN SEE WHY.
Allie: Wait, are we still talking about chicken?
